Dutch Housing was launched in 1991 by a group from Redman. The purpose was to introduce a home package with no options or upgrades offering a mid-range home at an entry-level price point. Dutch Housing was successful at this and became part of the Champion family in 1994. During the industry crash at the turn of the century, they began offering more customization and were able to survive though on a much smaller scale than the seven factory mega builder they had become.
